[MacDV] Burn DVDs using iMovie3, 2 Macs, and Panther (help?)

First, what kind of computer has the DVD burner? Sounds like a Beige
G3 if it supports that drive internally but doesn't have FireWire (or a
PCI PowerMac with an IDE card)...

If that's the case, you'll need a software tool to create a DVD disc
image on your Blue G3 -- Toast 6 would be the easiest choice, and not
terribly expensive. Since you're using iMovie 3, you could just drag
the referencing movie at the root level of your iMovie project folder
onto Toast 6 to create the DVD disc image. After you have the disc
image, you can copy it to the other computer via ethernet, and burn it
with the DVD burner -- or you can transplant the DVD burner into the
Blue G3 and avoid the network transfer (come to think of it, I don't
even know if Toast 6's DVD features will allow you to save a disc
image, so you may have to move the drive anyway). There are other
freeware "solutions" out there, but they can be terribly complicated
and infuriating to use. And iDVD won't work since you don't have a G4.
(But would it work if you also upgraded your Blue G3 with a G4 ZIF
processor upgrade?)

Good luck!
