The duration is changed when you select the photos tab and there is a 
slider that allows you to select up to 30 sec duration.  If the photo 
is already in the movie just click on it and will show up and remember 
you have to press apply.  Just remember that if there are transitions 
before or after the clip some time will be stolen from the clip by the 
transition.
