Something about Avid

I just found about about something you might be interested in. Avid is 
releasing a stripped down free version of their software. Since I don't 
know much about Avid, other than it is well established for the upper 
end of video editing, I cannot comment about how it would compare with 
Final Cut or Premiere. Here's some links to check it out for yourself:
