Exporting stills from Final Cut Pro vs Premiere

Any help from FCP or FCPExpress users greatly appreciated.

In premiere 5.1c, when I export a 1 second clip as .tif images to do 
effects, I 
get 30 premiere files that must then be converted into a photoshop file.  
I'm working on hundreds of files so it adds up.

In FCP, when you export a clip as .tif images - are these an fcp file that 
must be converted or are these .tif files that I can choose all and open 
directly into photoshop?
