iMovie2 to FCP is now possible?

Correct,  

FCEx projects can be opened with FCPro, and an FCPro project can be opened
with FCEx (even if you've done stuff in Pro that Express doesn't allow,
they'll still be there.)

I think FCEx is an excellent "offline" app for FCPro! (though Apple doesn't
see it that way.)
