I have a ZR-40 and wish I had purchased a Sony. My ZR-40 has an 
automatic gain control that really becomes annoying when there is any 
intermittent noise in the area. If someone on camera is talking the 
levels are fine. If there is a break in the conversation, the 
microphone appears to increase in sensitivity. This produces an 
annoying ebb and flow of hiss in between sentences.
