OH MY GOD. Gary Fujihara goes from the guy who couldn't find his
FireWire port on an old DV camera to the guy who is driving a world
class video editing rig with no peer in a few short months. What an
amazing story.
No being able to boot OS 9 DOES NOT LIMIT YOUR OPTIONS AT ALL. Forget 9
and the horse it rode in on Gary. You put Final Cut Pro 4 and After
Effects 5.5 on that puppy and you are going to be the King of The World.
Max out the RAM with 8 one GB sticks. And put two 250 GB HDs inside as
well. If the budget is not limited, buy it all from Apple with
Applecare. If there are money limits, you can buy those items from
third parties cheaper.
Fully populated and maxed out, the dual 2GB G5 Mac from Apple with
Radeon 9800 Pro Video is $7574
Add two 23" HD monitors and the DVI to ADC adapter for another $4097.
Plus $249 for Applecare.
Total $11,920
A far cry from $2999
Plus The Video Editing Software Suite
Final Cut Pro 4 $999
After Effects 5.5 Production Bundle $1,699
Photoshop 7 $609
Illustrator 10 $399
$3,706
Grand total $15,626 plus sales tax
Wow. And this is just the basic setup Gary. ; ^ ) I am so happy for you
I could burst. You are going to be so stylin' in your super duper G5
this Fall.
