Run on External?

Greetings,

I'm thinking of upgrading to Final Cut Pro 4 on my 15" TiBook, however 
the requirements state 1 gig of hard drive space for FCP4 and another 
14 gig for Soundtrack and LiveType content. This should leave about 
Zero space on my HD for capture, not to mention the upgrade of Studio 
Pro!

Can the Soundtrack and LiveType content be located on and run from an 
external FW drive?
