OT: Photoshop Actions

Ugh... so annoying.
Does anyone know how to set up an action IE JPEG to TIFF and then get 
the batch function to save it in the parent folder?
I've got the action working fine, except it insists on saving them all 
in the folder specified while recording the action.

I've always been able to do this it seems, except now something may 
have changed in ver. 7 so I don't understand it or cannot find it.
