Live action chapter selection buttons in iDVD

I am having difficulty locking the live video start frame for each chapter
button (NOT background image) in iDVD.

I create the chapters in iMovie, send to iDVD, set theme preference (i.e.
Theater, Book, Projector, etc), then create the Scene Selection preference
theme. IDVD automatically imports the live video image from the iMovie
created chapters. 

So far so good, however, when I click once on one of the buttons (either
with Motion on or off) I get the Movie checkbox and the slider bar. As I
understand from reading the iDVD help file, I should be able to move the
slider to a point within that video section (or anywhere in the full video
for that matter) and the live video should be viewable from that point when
burned to disk. It does not stick!

I have tried setting with Motion on and off, saving project before moving to
next step, setting with Movie box selected and unselected, etc, but to no
avail I have yet (in MANY efforts) been able to get the selection to work as
stated in the iDVD help file.

Anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions? I am running 10.2.8 on an
iMac 1Gh, QuickTime 6.4, iDVD 3.0.1, and iMovie 3.0.3. Thanks all.
