[MacDV] Video monitor playback?

Along these same lines, a similar problem:  G-4 dual, iMovie 3, JVC
HR-DVS3U vcr, Samsung 1501 MP monitor.  When I play a dv tape on the
vcr, it shows up fine (audio and video) both in iMovie and on the
monitor.  But when I play an iMovie on the computer, it doesn't show up
on the monitor.  I pushed the shuttle dial on the vcr once and got an
instantaneous (if rough) image of the iMovie, but it quickly
disappeared, and I cannot resurrect it.  iMovie preference is set to
play through to camera.  Are there some settings I'm overlooking?
