I know a lot of people on this list use DV for a living but us none
professionals don't always need the best tapes. I use this site

and have had no problems with them. They sell both the pro and consumer
tapes. I have used the panasonic AY-DVM60EJ tapes with no problems. At
$2.75 per tape you can't go too far wrong. I also only use the tapes
once. They have the 80 min tapes for $6.19 per tape.
