just make sure that you original source is of high enough resolution to 
stand the resampling. My rule has always been 100% 300 dpi for a 
scan... (if it's a digital source just use the original...) then you 
can blow it up as much as you like and then downsample to make it small 
without losing detail. Don't get fooled into that 200% 72 dpi scanning, 
it skips a lot of detail information...
