[MacDV] DVD player "cleaning"?

I had a similar problem with my PS2 (yeah I know-but it was a good 
justification!) and used one of those cleaning disks. It basically has 
this small soft brush glued to it that "dusts" the lens. I've used the 
Disk Cleaner a bunch of times and most times it seems to have worked.
