I just got a notoriously problem ridden DVD player from eBay. It is cranky beyond belief (JVC xv-501bk) I used a cleaning disk and even went the extra step of putting a drop of lens cleaner on the little brush. It helped even with this very bad machine ( don't cry I only paid $18.. for it). Jim
