[MacDV] MPEG sound from Sony still camera on FCE?

[Vtstream]

Why does the sound from an MPEG video shot on a Sony DSC F717 still camera 
not show up when I import the file onto my imac g5 on Final Cut Express? 
The clip shows up and plays in the viewer, but no sound. Where are the sound tracks?
