[MacDV] MacTheRipper error

I made a DVD from an old VHS tape.  I later wanted to copy the contents to 
my HD for viewing w/o having to run the DVD player so I tried MacTheRipper 
and it gave the "this disc was made with deliberate bad sectors"

since I'm fairly sure it wasn't (video encoding done with EyeTV) does this 
just mean there was a bad sector on the disk?

if so I suppose I need to rerip from source.
