If you still have the original tapes, then you transfer to the new HD 
DVD standard (whatever that will be -- HD-DVD or BLU-RAY).  Even though 
the source will be SD (standard definition), the transfers should look 
identical to the original since you could use a higher bitrate on the 
new discs (and players).  Or you just burn the DV tape data onto the new 
huge-capacity discs (without compressing to MPEG-2).

Anyway...  Just thinking to the future.  :-)
