Seriously. Yes.
I've had 6 Macs. All but the 128 and the MacPortable are still in
service. Actually we upgraded the 128 to a 4 meg box with a SCSI port
and it was in service until @1994. My ex spilled mead on the Portable
and fried it.
My duo230, iBook tangerine and this current powerbook1Gig were all
bought refurbed or used. I did have to have the logic board on the
Powerbook done though after 6 months. But that's the only thing ever.

Good idea to check the power supplies and make sure you aren't running
too hot. I got a coolpad for the Powerbook and it's made a difference.
