Importing is pointing the computer towards a file already on the hard drive. Capturing is copying the data from the original videotape into the computer. You say you "re-imported" through Avid. Did you capture? In which case, it wouldn't be a re-import, and the Avid should know where it put the files and what they are called. Anyway, I suspect you are using a term that means one thing, but doing something else.
