[MacDV] Breaking DVD film up into clips

I'd think the quality being passed to FCP would be better...or at 
least as good as VHS gets...would be found by going from your VHS 
tape to a digital camcorder either in pass through mode or recorded 
on digital tape and then captured by FCP.
