Just because it hasn't been updated in 20 months doesn't mean that  
it's unstable. In fact, I keep a second old version on hand because  
the next version up won't run certain games. Besides, remember that  
MacMAME is basically the ROM translator, or a generic upright  
cabinet. How much more can you improve it? Sure, there are versions  
that will run Pac Man in 3d mode, but I'm sure not everyone desires  
to have that ability.
