Recording with laptop

I often record live performances and town hall meetings with an older
Mac powerbook, using the audio line in port, direct to a line out on
the PA board, and ProTools. My daughter's iBook has no line-in, so I
use an iMic from Griffin allowing the line out form the PA board to
USB on the iMac. No problem either way. Of course, there are only two
tracks, but I've never needed more on a live performance.
