[MPA] protools and plug ins

jumped into the digital world, mac g4 the digi 001
card and interface, protools LE 6.0 software.. 

questions,,, WHAT type of plug ins work with this set
up?  none of my older ones seem to work, and a few i
have tried do not show up in the AUDIOSUITE menu. 

very confusing, and this should be easy..
