A point of clarification please: I assume you mean the NC-7100 USB
microphone? I have ViaVoice for Mac OS X and one of these microphones.

There is no ANC-7100 USB microphone. Andrea Electronics only uses the ANC
designation for headsets that have a second microphone element for active
noise cancellation.

Interesting, I have not tried a TalkPro Xpress with the Griffin iMic yet.

Correct. In fact MacSpeech now says not to use Andrea Electronics
microphones, either the NC or ANC models, due to insufficient gain. They do
say however that using an Andrea Electronics USB pd is OK.
