screen brightness and the PMU

Dear list,

did anybody ever tried to reset the PMU (Power Management Unit) to
improve the screen brightness? On the Apple support page it is talked
about how the PMU is responsible for all kinds of stuff and
backlighting. Feeling that my Ti 400 screen brightness is becoming
noticable less compared to its new condition, I was wondering if this
could be a fix.
