You could change your mind about it and appreciate it as a feature.
Seriously, my 1-year-old '667 has been this way for half its life.  I rather
like it; I like to tap on it when I'm deep in thought.  Sometimes it makes a
squeaking sound, which is even more fun.  People have paid $2.99 or more for
those "Stress Ball" toys.  Rejoice, you've got one built in to your
Powerbook!
