Suddenly, all was quiet

Hi all

The fans on my new OneGigaHurts Combo have been running pretty much all 
the time since I got the machine on Monday, until this afternoon. I 
booted into OS 9 this morning, just for old time's sake, and played 
around for an hour. The house was still warm from yesterday, but the 
fans didn't run. Since then, under OS X, they have also remained 
silent. The outside temperature is a mild 25C today, and the house has 
cooled, but wouldn't it be bizarre if the fix for the constant fanorama 
was a boot into OS 9? Am I on drugs, or is this somehow possible?
