I opened 6 .JPG images in Appleworks and pasted them as floating graphics on
to a blank 6 page Appleworks Wordprocessing document, then used Save as PDF
in the OSX Print Center to generate the .PDF file.

Acrobat reader gave thumbnails for each page.
