I got the lines on my first tibook (a 400) when I carried it unprotected
in my backpack for a few weeks

I also had the problem of vertical blue and/or black lines
running down the screen so I took it in and they replaced the
screen (It was flickering as well). But I'm wondering whether constant
pressure on the back of the flimsy TIbook screen
produces the lines.Like if you carried it in a bag with heavy books
leaning against it or packed it in a box with other stuff.
The lines returned temporarily after I had it packed in the car with
a load of stuff for a trip.I have'nt heard of any complaints of lines
on any of the other hard screen 12" G4s or G3s so maybe thats it.

I recall messages recently about vertical lines appearing on the LCD
(and perhaps that the hinges have to do with it). I cannot locate a
corresponding remedy in the archives, though. Could someone please
help me? Thanks, Eduard.
