In the U.S. wireless 802.11 access is as close as your local Starbucks -- their alliance with T-Mobile brings a T1 line into each store and most of the time you'll be one of two or three people sharing it. In the U.K. I think Starbucks is also getting wired, and public 802.11 is coming (or already at) the major train stations in London - I think Paddington Station is already live. Check out http://www.80211hotspots.com/ for worldwide hotspots. Yes, it's a little pricey, but sipping a latte and doing email & surfing at T1 speeds is worth it. Regards, Jim
