You will NEED an External Keyboard and stand or keyboard drawer to stay at
it 8 hours.  It can be done without it but I am in about the same situation
and have a keyboard on a pull-out "drawer", and a cordless Kensington Turbo
Mouse (it's GREAT)

When I travel it takes me a few hours to adjust to using the built-in
keyboard.  But I carry an external mouse cause I hate track pads.
