CD-RW burning in Ti G4

Dear All,

I noticed that burning a CD-RW using my Ti G4 800 MHz's computer's
built-in drive is, at best, an iffy situation. Recently  - the drive
recognized only 1 out of 3(!!) CD-RW disks (Memorex 4x) and failed to
correctly burn even that one "recognizable" CD-RW!

I use OS 10.2.3 with the burn utility program which came with the
computer.

Any ideas/help/experience sharing would be very much appreciated.
