There may be an easier way to do it but I just named my desktops (like Desktop 1 is now called Mail) and when I go to the VD Preferences I click the Applications tab, select Mail, and under "New Windows for this Application Will Start on the Desktop Named:" drop-down menu I select the Mail desktop. I also have a Chat desktop, a Web 1 (Safari) and Web 2 (Chimera) desktops. I need to go ahead and make Word, Excel, and Acrobat desktops as well.
