Is this a terminal operation? mark > P Port 100 is the normal port for POP3 email. The message probably means that Mail cannot connect to whatever mail server you are trying to connect to via POP3. Perhaps there is a need for authentication? You can change the port that Mail uses for POP3 in preferences->Accounts.
