The problem with this comparison is that Alfa Romeos do not require any
specific item that Alfa Romeo does not supply, and computers need 3rd party
software support.

Therefore Apple market share has to be sufficient that 3rd parties will
continue to develop for the platform.

This argument is totally specious. But that has not stopped Steve Jobs has
been using it for many years.
