Mark - I use the very small application "AltiVec Fractal Carbon 
1.1.3" from Dauger Research, which gives you a Gigaflop rating on 
your computer.
My Ti-500 achieves (up to) 1.6 Gigaflops.
Recalling that in the old days, one used to think of 1 Gigaflop as 
being a supercomputer ......
