You import DV footage to iMovie, Premiere, or whatever editing software you might have. And then burn to DVD.  If there is a direct path into DVD record mode from input I sure don't know of it.  If anyine does please advise.

If you are strictly going to archive without edit, the stand alone DVD pleyer/burners are the way to go.
