Verizon & LG VX4400 using Quick 2 Net /or Express Network

After spending about a day figuring out how to connect my LG VX4400 cell phone to the PowerBook 17" to use it as a modem, I thought I'd share the answers.

Connecting to the Verizon Quick 2 Net (formerly known as Mobile Office) network is cheaper (uses existing air time minutes) but is slower. Connecting to Express Network is faster but requires extra subscription cost.
