Yepps,

usually the router is configured to block the ports or forward them in 
a specific way .... i don't know exactly what port iChat was using in 
my head - but this will be your problem ....
I would either try to email the file, upload it to your webspace (if 
you have some) or well, there are some other things as well, but i 
don't think you want to run your own ftp server with just this one file 
transfer ....
maybe you can ask your admin to open / forward the port that iChat uses 
to your machine ...
