adobe pro ver.6 print problem

Any help is warmly accepted concerning this.

I can't print out pdf files from my adobe acrobat professional ver. 6
when printing the printer dialogue box appears and sends the file to cue
for printing but that's all

the printer dialogue box shows its in cue and sent but no action at the 
printer.

The preview program accepts the same files and starts up the printer 
dialogue box,
sends the file for printing and PRINTS it.

Any suggestions on this?
