So what are you talking about?
Do you want to know:

• if we reformat our Macs regulary?
• how long we have kept updating the OS without formating? (In that 
case we can hardly know if the system is getting slower since we (read 
I) have nothing to compare with.)
• if the system was slower (cluttered?) after a reinstall (with or 
without formating the HD?

Sorry Alan but can you please clarify what experience you want us to 
share with you?
