Perfect explanation! Thanks.. I'm not a fan of the Al's anyway (kind of a
wimpy feeling about them) so I guess I don't mind missing the deadline...

Trade-In/ Upgrade programs don't happen very often. When Apple Repair is in
short supply of service parts, they bump heads with the Apple Store to offer
the program. And it wasn't like they were advertising the Ti-Book one like
crazy. I found about it through this list.
The Ti one worked simply enough. You called Apple Support before the March
deadline and they asked you about your machine. The more your Ti worked, the
more they wanted it. They sent you a box, and you put your Ti in there,
wished it well, and if they approved it, they would send you the 15 or 17
in. New Al book that you wanted minus $700 off the price. The older your Ti
Book, the better you made off in the deal.
Kind of like an organ donor program... My ol 400 MHz Ti Book is keeping
others running...
