I have had luck installing from both the CD and an external drive. I have installed onto a tower and a Ti. Not sure what is the problem since it sounds like you have checked for directory problems. You might make sure there are no external firewire or usb devices when booted from the install CD as the lack of drivers can be a problem. I would also send an email to micromat tech support. They are excellent and very responsive. I usually get a reply the same day, sometimes within hours. I also beta test for them and we have not seen any problems with this version.
