You do the layout just as you do when working with anything else in  
MS Word. But when it comes to *saving* the file, you click on "File",  
then choose "Save As...", and when the little window with the file  
name, etc. comes up, click on "Format:", and then choose "Rich Text  
Format (RTF)".
