[Ti] Broken TiBook case

Good Morning!

I was recommended to this list by an acquaintance from another list.

My TiBook's lid, which holds the monitor, has cracked at the bottom, 
left corner.  My Apple Care expired 5 days ago.  I'm hoping the local 
Apple Store will grant me some discretionary relief today.  The 
computer and monitor still work flawlessly; only the case is broken.

Any words of wisdom will be very much appreciated.
