I've done all the upgrades incrementally as they've come out, on my
15 inch PowerBook 1.67MHz. I've never gone the route of the clean
wipe because I didn't have time or enough free disk space. But I've
never had any problems. I'm now using 10.4.3 with no problems. Just
make sure you are backed up first, just in case.

After about a week of heavy, daily use, I usually reboot as things
sometimes start slowing down, mostly because of decreasing hard drive
space (less than a gig) with large cache files from many applications
open (especially Safari). That immediately gets things back to speed
(and about 3 or 4 gigs of free space). But that's not a 10.4 issue,
I'm quite sure (it happened in 10.3, too). I know, I know, I should
have more free space ... I'm working on it. :)
