[Ti] generic vs brand name memory?

Difference b/w generic and brand name for 1 gb SODIMM is $141 vs $205 (Crucial)

Anybody have any experience with generic ram in their PB?

Mines the 1.67 MHZ pb that shipped standard with 1 gb (2x512mb) this was the
instore dual-link model. Anybody got that? Can you confirm it does ship with 1
gb standard. I was under that impression but my machine isn't with me right
now.
