I agree with Tom Miller, and hope he is correct:

"If Apple dropped its OS, there would be no point in buying a Mac.
Won't happen."

However, it is interesting to note that Apple's software engineering
chief of nearly a decade, Avie Tevanian, left the company a few days

Perhaps this is merely a coincidence.
