When I contacted BTI, I was suggested to contact BTI's Japanese distributor. They replaced the battery once (April 2004) and said they would replace again if the problem reoccured within the battery's 1 year warranty. The problem did happen again (I vaguely recall the replacement initially did seem to fix the problem), but I forgetfully let the warranty expire. This was with a 400MHz TiBook and happened running both OS 9.2.x and OS X (10.3.x). The battery currently lives in the same TiBook which now is seldomly used untethered. Just in case, I popped the MC-G4 into a 1GHz TiBook. It doesn't seem to charge unless I pop it out and back in, so it's the same problem... If you do contact BTI next time, can you ask if they use Sony cells that have to be recalled? -- Heeday at mac.com
